GEC TELEVISION 1950s This GEC television (catalogue no. BT 310/11), dating from the 1950s, was still being produced into the 1960s. The GEC Archives hold a variety of television sets including an early Marconi TV from the1940s and a GEC Teletext receiver from 1974, the first commercially available teletext receiver in the world. Other models in the collection include Sobell and Ferranti sets.
